Matthew’s Talk for Primary January 24, 2016

Theme: The scriptures are the word of God. I know the scriptures are true.

I know the scriptures are true.

Sing Daniel was a Prophet.

I know Daniel was a prophet because the Holy Ghost whispers into my ear that the scriptures are true.

How did he do? Well, he wore a lion hooded blanket over his shoulders. He stood up straight and tall, forgot all his lines so the primary president came and read the first line into his ear. He turned into the microphone and practically ate it to say his line. Then, when he sang the song, it was so loud because he was eating that microphone, there were kiddos in the room that put their hands over their ears. It was absolutely adorable. 

Thank you for sharing your testimony, dude! We love you! Good work.

learning so fast

You are so busy!! You love Legos, letters, sounding things out, can't rhyme yet, beginning sounds, running fast, play fighting, Star Wars, wrestling with Dad.

When you leave people you love, it's really really hard on you and you cry for them, This always breaks your momma's heart. And Grumpy's and Grammie's.

You are a BIG helper. You help with your brother and sister a lot. You are a good example. You even help your friends at school.

You raise your hand really really well. I teach the music in primary at church and you are always one of the best behaved kids in there. I know you set a good example for others but you are easily overlooked because of the kiddos that cause so much trouble.

Uncle Greg used to try and make his mom make one of these pretty regularly. You are showing Uncle Greg what he could have had!!

This is a fountain for Daniel Boone. We though it was pretty cool because we have such a strong tie to that name (Uncle Daniel was named after him because when Nick was asked what to name his brother, his reply was "Davey Crockett-Daniel Boone". Great answer. Hence the name Uncle Daniel.

Brusier, you have loved the water. I am so glad that we tried out the swim team for you this year. You weren't quite ready to put your head in the water last year and you don't like to do it for periods of more than one second this year, but you are moving in the right direction! We'll get you there. We think that you don't like water in your ears. You even say, "it hurts". We think that has more to do with what you know water in your ear CAN do to make your ears hurt and not what it is doing that moment. Watch all though. Next year you'll be a pro!

I stopped sucking my thumb!!

Momma is so proud of you! We just added the nail polish (Malava Stop) to your thumb nails because the dentist said we needed to do something before your mouth shape changed (like Claire's has). You went 10 days and earned this!

I sent this email to friends and family:

Don't mind the smoothie on my face, but I wanted to tell you all that I stopped sucking my thumb, too! Aren't I amazing?!?
